Ready for plebe parent weekend?

4/C Parents!   I hope you take a moment to check out our info page on the upcoming plebe parent weekend!

Plebe Parent Weekend

Today is I-Day

Posted: 6/30/2016

Plebes swearing in on I-DayToday is I-Day. For some parents with NAPS, you already dropped off your dear son or daughter yesterday at I-Day minus one or your plebe checked in on your own.   Others of you just left your plebe at Alumni Hall. For others of us, we remember back on this similar day a year or more ago with mixed emotions.

I-Day Schedule and Info

After the swearing in you new parents can set a timer for that first phone call and Plebe Parent Weekend.  I know it seems like a long time ahead of you since you cannot contact your dear son or daughter aside from postal delivery.  Be faithful in using that method to reach out.  Their detailers will require they write back.  Looking back, the time went by quickly, and our Mids are so busy that we can let stretches longer than that go by without a text/email/phone or video calls during the academic year.   Know that the Navy has been doing this for years and knows how to turn Midshipmen into officers.

Please know that those of us in the parents club are here to support you.   We know how much we needed those that went before us and hope you will reach out to us whether you feel you need it or not.
